The idea for the One World Clock came to me while on a business trip flight from California to Japan. Half way through the trip I wondered what time it was in both locations. I suddenly imagined looking down at the Earth from above the North Pole with California at the top at 6pm and Japan at the right approaching noon. I thought this would be so helpful for business and family around the world!
The map is an Azimuthal Equal Area projection. It accurately displays the relative sizes of the continents and islands. It is also a more intuitive way to display night and day versus the parabola flat projection maps or digital clocks.
The map reminds us that we are all connected and must work together to solve global problems that affect us all.
"The Earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens". Bahá'u'lláh
